Довгі некодуючі РНК – «камертон» в регуляції клітинних процесів

Більшість транскриптів не є матрицею для синтезу протеїнів, вони виконують різноманітні функції, контролюючі такі клітинні процеси, як ембріогенез і диференціація, імпринтинг і інактивація Х-хромосоми, імунна відповідь та реакція на стрес. Значна частина таких РНК, довгі некодуючі РНК (lncRNA), виконує роль сигнальних молекул, навігаційних систем і платформ для зібрання складних рибонуклеїнових комплексів; бере участь в організації спеціальних клітинних доменів; зв’язує регуляторні протеїни і мікроРНК; є попередниками малих РНК. LncRNA здійснюють регуляцію транскрипції, альтернативного сплайсингу, редагування, транспорту, трансляції і деградації мРНК. У процесах ремоделювання хроматину і контролю транскрипції важливу роль відіграє просторова структура lncRNA. Огляд висвітлює різні аспекти функціонування довгих некодуючих РНК .
